Under various articles of the Indian constitution free and compulsory education is provided as fundamental right to children between the ages of 6 and 14 years. Despite such great provisions the status of education in India is not satisfactory at all, please have a look at the following facts:
  • Census 2011 data reveals that 8.4 crore Indian children never go to school and 78 lakh Indian children are compelled to earn while attending schools.
  • According to the “Stolen childhood report” 47 million youth of upper secondary age are not in school.
  • According to statistics mentioned at the website of “Friends of Salaam Baalak Trust” 50% of Indian children do not attend school regularly.
  • According to District information system for education’s report 2014-15 out of every 100 children only 32 children finish their school education age-appropriately.
  • India is at 116th place in “End of Childhood Index Rankings 2017”.
  • India has the largest number of child labourers under the age of 14 years among all nations.
  • According to census 2011, a total number of 43,53,247 Indian children of age group 5 to 14 years are working as child labourer.
  • 80% of Indian child labourers are engaged in agricultural work.
  • India has the largest number of illiterates in the world.
  • Literacy rate in India is only 74% while the world’s literacy rate is 84%.
  • Female literacy rate in India is 65.46% and male literacy rate is 82.14%.
  • High Cost of private education is the reason given by 3 in every 5 drop-outs as the reason they leave their schools.
  • Only 2% of the Indian schools offer complete education from class I to class 12.

Is Future of India Endangered?

Evidently yes, our children are our future and if they are uneducated how will they grow and how will they contribute in the growth of our India. Above facts are giving an alarming picture that India will remain the country of uneducated people and so called ‘developing country” even after next 50 years. If we really want to contribute in the development of India we shall have to work in this area on war footing basis.

What is the root cause of such alarming situation?

  • We are not ready to take any initiative or to take some collective efforts for making the 100% educated India.
  • We always expect some scheme from our government that will educate all Indian children in a magical way.
  • Our Indian intellectuals are continuously waiting for some kind of miracle which will educate all Indian children in one go.
  • We all are blaming the System, Society and each other for not doing anything towards educating Indian children.
  • Though some individuals and organizations are working in this field with their heart and soul but many of them are serving at their local level only and others are lacking in resources.

Do you know?

  • In India we have been living with a cycle of poverty, illiteracy / un-education and unemployment / underpaid jobs for more than 100 years. It works in a way that poor people cannot provide quality education to their children. These Uneducated people always remain unemployed / underpaid and their lesser earning capacity makes them even poorer and the cycle never ends.
  • The renowned private schools of almost every Indian city charge 40% to 100% more fees as compared to average private schools of the same city. Still these costly schools are very successful; just because a majority people of Indian middle class believe that “more expensive means better in quality”. However, it is not true always.
  • Average fee per student charged by such private schools is enough to educate at least two students by providing same quality of education and all necessary facilities.
  • Every year 50% to 70% RTE seats remain vacant in private schools. Why? Well, we all know the reason. By the way, if you think poor people don’t want to educate their children, you are absolutely wrong.

Who we are?

We are an informal group of four members based at Agra (Uttar Pradesh). We are trying to create some synergy for providing free education to (i) Poor Children, (ii) Orphans and (iii) Children of Army Martyrs. We want to serve free education to as many of such children as possible. We understand that if we work in individual capacity we may not be able to make any significant change in the Indian society. Therefore, we are in process of establishing a charitable trust. By making a trust we shall get many a members and volunteers to support us which will help us to reach a lot of needy students.

What is Our Aim?

Our aim is to break the above poverty cycle by providing quality education free to those who cannot pay school fees. The more children we educate, the weaker this cycle be. Our vision is to make education available to all.

What is the plan?

  • Our plan is based on the principle of social equality and transparency.
  • At India we are having many successful private schools in every city and obviously there are people who can afford the fee of these private schools.
  • We shall open schools one by one which will run on the method of social welfare.
  • These schools will have two batches a morning batch and an afternoon batch with exactly same facilities and quality of education.
  • The morning section will charge a discounted fee which will be lower than other schools providing similar quality of education and facilities.
  • The evening section will charge only 1% of the fee charged by morning batch. That too will be returned to these students on passing the final exams of his class. This system will prevent undesirable people to annoy the real learners and also provide a kind to encouragement for the students to perform well.
  • It means those who can pay will pay at discounted rates and those who cannot pay will get same education and facilities free of cost.
  • The surplus of incomes over the total expenses will be invested in opening of more schools on similar pattern.
  • Besides the bookish knowledge the students will be provided with skill training in these schools so that the students shall be able to get self employed right after completing their school education.

What we expect from you?
